Sources, not shortcuts
We ingest metadata through approved RSS and API feeds. We do not bypass paywalls or reproduce publisher articles without permission. Story pages offer concise summaries and compare linked coverage. Read the full report on the original publisher’s website; their paywalls and ads still apply. Source availability does not imply a commercial licence. Operators review feed terms before enabling a source.
Four visible verification states
Verified means a primary statement or at least two independent established sources support the same claim. Reported means one established publisher. Developing means credible but incomplete support. Unconfirmed means insufficient corroboration and is excluded from public distribution.
The triple-check rule
A claim originating from a source below 60/100 remains unconfirmed until three independently owned sources rated at least 75/100 support the same claim. Syndication and title similarity do not count as independent evidence. Editors review source ownership and whether each source actually supports the claim.
Automatic editorial checks
Approved sources can publish short attributed headline notices automatically. We check source settings, reputation, age, exact metadata and source links, and hold configured sensitive topics for review. These notices are labelled Reported. This is a rule-based filter, not independent fact-checking; an editor reviews exceptions. No paid AI is required.
Original images
Images must belong to the linked story and have documented reuse rights. Approved images carry source credit. We do not replace unavailable article images with unrelated stock photos. A text-syndication licence does not automatically cover the accompanying images.
AI-assisted summaries
The optional model receives only headline metadata. It writes a short attributed notice, never an invented account of the full article. Summaries await editorial review before publication. Source titles are stored for attribution. Company performance claims remain attributed claims.
Clustering and corrections
Matching titles and timing suggest a shared story, but do not establish truth. New coverage is attached for editorial comparison without automatically withdrawing an existing publication or restoring a retraction. Corrections are timestamped on the article and create tasks to reconcile already distributed posts.
